Question by: Scorcher mad  09/01/2012 10:22:57
Question: Hi. Im looking to upgrade my sand scorcher suspension from the standard oil dampers to spring shocks. But which shocks do I use? It would be a great help if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks. G.

Hmm it's a common question without a straighforward answer. It depends if you want scale looks or performance. For performance any of the coilover units will work as long as you select one that's the right length. 3racing or Tamiya or most other aftermarket would work. I've always fancied the slightly slimmer re-re Avante shocks for this application, 4 fronts might work? If you want scale looks then it's best to stick with narrower diameter shocks, try rc4wd.com for aftermarket options or you can buy spring platform kits from Ebay to use the kit shocks.
